'Harbin' is set for a December release
Director Woo Min-ho's comeback film 'Harbin' is set for a December release, with the first poster and trailer now unveiled.
Woo Min-ho returns to the big screen with 'Harbin,' four years after his last film 'The Man Standing Next' (2020). Scheduled for a December release, 'Harbin' is a spy drama set in 1909, depicting the intense chase and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a common purpose and those pursuing them. Along with the December release announcement, a poster and trailer featuring General An Jung-geun of the Korean Independence Army have been revealed. The poster showcases a new side of Hyun Bin, never seen before in his filmography. The trailer is filled with An Jung-geun's monologue, penned by Woo Min-ho: "I was ready to give up everything and die. The harrowing screams of my fallen comrades echoed in my ears and haunted my vision. At that moment, I realized I am living in place of my deceased comrades. And I knew what I had to do. I must kill the old wolf, the leader of the Japanese wolves ravaging the Korean Empire." The one-minute trailer, narrated in Hyun Bin's powerful baritone, depicts the harrowing plight and grand journey of the independence fighters, heightening anticipation for its big-screen release.
'Harbin' will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before its domestic release. The premiere will take place on the evening of September 8 at Roy Thomson Hall, with Hyun Bin, Lee Dong-wook, and director Woo Min-ho in attendance. The film, set during the Japanese occupation of Korea, has garnered attention even before its release, being invited to one of the world's top four film festivals. Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, 'Harbin' will be officially released in December.
