Jung Ho-yeon graced the red carpet of the 81st Venice International Film Festival on August 29 and 30 (local time). Attending the premiere of Apple TV+'s 'Disclaimer' over the two days, Jung captivated the audience with a striking red dress on the first day. On the second day, she appeared in a daring black dress with bold cutouts, once again drawing intense spotlight on the red carpet.
Notably, her two-shot with the lead actress of 'Disclaimer,' Cate Blanchett, garnered significant attention. The Hollywood Reporter highlighted, "Jung Ho-yeon was a key figure among the Gen Z audience lined up on the red carpet. Cheers erupted when she stood in front of the cameras with Cate Blanchett," reflecting the global interest in their meeting.
Apple TV+'s 'Disclaimer,' featuring Jung Ho-yeon, was unveiled for the first time at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. The psychological thriller series follows journalist 'Catherine' (played by Cate Blanchett), who gains fame by exposing others' wrongdoings, as she receives a novel from an unknown author. Jung Ho-yeon plays the role of 'Jisoo,' working alongside Cate Blanchett.
Variety reported, "Apple TV+'s 'Disclaimer' received an enthusiastic response from the Venice audience. After the screening, the audience gave a five-minute standing ovation, showering the film with praise." The Hollywood Reporter also noted, "Despite the over three-hour runtime, the audience stood and applauded as the lights came on in Venice's Sala Grande cinema," capturing the excitement of the moment.
Previously, Jung Ho-yeon attended prestigious award ceremonies such as the Gotham Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), Critics Choice Super Awards, Emmy Awards, and the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) as both a presenter and a recipient. Notably, she became the first Korean and the first non-English-speaking actress to win the Best Actress award at the SAG.
With her successful entry into the Venice International Film Festival, one of the world's three major film festivals with the longest history, Jung Ho-yeon's worldwide journey continues to draw attention and anticipation.
