The movie 'My Old Oak', the final film in director Ken Loach's trilogy

The movie 'My Old Oak' (directed by Ken Loach) will be released on January 17, 2024.

'My Old Oak' is a touching drama depicting the special friendship between TJ, who runs Old Oak, an old pub in an abandoned mining town in northeastern England, and Yara, a foreign girl who comes to the village. It is also the last of director Ken Loach's trilogy, following 'I, Daniel Blake' and 'I'm Sorry, Ricky.'

'My Old Oak', which depicts the sad conflict between a village that has lost its vitality due to the collapse of industry and the strangers who come to the village, and the beautiful solidarity beyond it, was the last screened in competition at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.

Starting with the 76th Locarno International Film Festival, it swept the audience awards at leading film festivals such as the 50th Ghent Film Festival, the 68th Valladolid International Film Festival, and the 35th Sudbury International Film Festival. In addition, it was officially invited to the 28th Busan International Film Festival and met domestic audiences for the first time.
