Showcase for the movie ‘There’s Hong Kong Inside Me’

'There's Hong Kong Inside Me' tells the story of Hye-rim, who one day suddenly falls into Hong Kong in her pajamas, traces her memories, visits a store, and meets her first love, Chan-sung, there. But no matter what she does, she can't return to reality, so she tries a last resort. fantasy.

Regarding the reason why he participated in the project, director Kang Yun-seong revealed the behind-the-scenes story, saying, "It was a project that was restricted before the coronavirus. It was continuously postponed, but we ended up filming it in January of this year. We did it after the work on 'Casino' was finished."
Regarding 'There is Hong Kong Inside Me', which has a unique story of returning to Hong Kong over and over again without knowing whether it is a dream or reality, director Kang Yun-seong said, "I wanted to do a fantasy romance. The location was set in Hong Kong. I thought the two actors would fit well together. “After it was decided, I asked about the background and worked on revising the script even right before filming,” he said, referring to the screenwriting process.
When asked how they wanted to show the charms of actors Woo Hye-rim and Hwang Chan-seong in 'There's Hong Kong Inside Me', they said, "I thought I should show my charms in my characters. I thought I could blend in much more naturally. The content was also there. We proceeded accordingly. It was nice to see these two actors bring up old stories and talk about what they were like in the past. Don't Korean audiences know the lives of the two actors well? When people who were idols get older and meet in a foreign country, “I wanted to show what kind of emotions it would be like,” he explained.
Regarding the process of selecting a location in Hong Kong, he explained, "We communicated with the Hong Kong Tourism Board over the Internet. We decided to talk about the main points of tourism. I wanted to show the most representative spaces of Hong Kong." He added, "Incredibly crowded apartments and a lot more people than in Korea. It felt like something you would only get in Myeongdong. I got the impression that Hong Kong is very active."

Regarding her feelings about participating in the short project, Woo Hye-rim said, "It was an honor to work with director Kang Yun-seong. A meaningful point was that I lived in Hong Kong, where Hwang Chan-sung lived during his childhood."
When asked what it was like to be cast opposite actor Hwang Chan-sung and work with him, Woo Hye-rim said, "It was actually good. Because he was someone I knew. I thought I could act comfortably. I don't have much acting experience. I wonder what he thought." .
Hye-rim Woo chose the opening as the most memorable or favorite scene. Hye-rim Woo said, "The scene where she slaps the face was also very funny. Personally, the best scene is the scene at the beginning where I open the door and come out and shout, 'This is Hong Kong!' That's different from my usual self. I felt like I was making a new discovery for myself. “He answered. Next, when asked how she would feel if she were in that situation like 'I have Hong Kong inside me', Woo Hye-rim said, "If it were me, I think I would have been calmer because I was trying to understand the situation. I also liked the swearing line there. I had fun swearing at this opportunity. “I did it,” he added.
When asked what Director Kang Yun-seong felt like after seeing him on set, he said, "I was nervous because it was my first work in a long time. I was worried because the director had filmed a lot of action movies, but he gently and calmly guided me through each step. I was excited and had a lot of worries about what to do. “It felt like he was telling me, ‘I think I can do less.’ It reminded me of the producer guiding me in the recording studio,” he explained.

Regarding his thoughts and reasons for participating in the short project, Hwang Chan-seong said, "I decided to do it without looking at the genre or scenario because director Kang Yun-seong said it would be done. I heard that actress Woo Hye-rim would do it, so I was in good spirits even before filming."
When asked what his experience with director Kang Yun-seong was like on set, Hwang Chan-seong said, "I felt respected. I followed him around when I went on a pre-hunting trip on set. I've never had an experience like that before. I was able to hear what kind of concerns the director and staff were having on set. "I was curious about what part it would play in. I felt very comfortable while talking with the director on set. As an actor, I keep finding the validity of my actions while acting, and the director saved me that trouble," he explained.
When asked what it was like working with Woo Hye-rim as his counterpart, Hwang Chan-sung said, "I thought Hye-rim suited her because she lived in Hong Kong. I didn't think about 'how much acting experience she has'. I did a reading and went to Hong Kong and tried it out. "It was comfortable because we had known each other for a while. If I had met him for the first time, I would have made an effort to become friends. I skipped that time and immediately said, 'Let's give it a try.'"
As for the most memorable scene in 'There's Hong Kong Inside Me', Hwang Chan-sung said, "The scene where he asks Hye-rim on the boat, 'Are you talking to me to kiss you?' was fun. I had fun thinking about it. It was better than I thought. “It came out,” he said.
The movie ‘There’s Hong Kong Inside Me’ will be released sequentially through CJ ENM channels in December.
