‘Moving’ wins 6 awards including the grand prize… Ryu Seung-ryong fails to win Best Actor and Song Hye-kyo

The Disney Plus OTT series 'Moving' won six awards, including the grand prize, Best Creative Award, Best Actor Award, Best Male and Female Newcomer Award, Writer Award, and Best VFX Award.

The 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards were held at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan on the 8th. Actor Kim Kang-woo and Momoland's Nancy served as hosts.

The Best Creative Award, the grand prize of this awards ceremony, went to 'Moving'. Director Park In-je of 'Moving' said, "I am grateful to the staff who filmed for 11 months. Above all, I would like to thank writer Kang Full, who wrote an excellent story, and all the actors who gave excellent acting." He added, "The ending credits of Part 20 are 'Moving.' “I would like to say thank you to all the staff who participated,” he said in his acceptance speech.

NEW (Next Entertainment World) Chairman Kim Woo-taek said, "When I decided to make a Korean-style hero film, I had a lot of concerns. As a result, I am grateful that I was able to present a wonderful work to the world."

The Best OTT Original category was won by Wave's 'Weak Hero Class1'. The production team said, "We received great energy after screening it at the Busan Film Festival last year. We are trying to make the next film with energy again. I hope people will see that the story that will continue in the future is about a weaker hero."

Producer Yoon Hyun-ki said, "Thank you for giving me such a big and glorious work. I understand that it means to work harder. I will share this joy with actors Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Kyung who were unable to come to Busan."

Ryu Seung-ryong, who was called the winner of the Best Actor Award, went up on stage and held the trophy in his arms. He smiled and said, "I feel like my heart will explode. I filmed 'Moving' in Busan, but I am happy to receive the award here in such good shape." . He then expressed his gratitude to the investment and distribution company Disney Plus, production company Studio & New, writer Kang Full, and the actors, and raised his voice, saying, "It may not be grand, but I think a word of sympathy and acknowledgment of its usefulness is the superpower of 'Moving.'"

The Best Actress award was won by Karishma Tana for ‘Scoop’. Song Hye-kyo, who was nominated for the award, did not receive the award and did not attend the awards ceremony that day.

The Best Supporting Actor award went to Hwe Xi-ling from 'Taiwan Crime Stories', and the Best Supporting Actress award went to Lim Ji-yeon from 'The Glory'. Lim Ji-yeon said, “As an actress, I will try to show better acting through better works,” and said, “The night in Busan is even more beautiful today!”

The best director award was given to director Xin Shuang of 'The Perfect Season', and the best writer award was given to Kang Full of 'Moving'. Kang Full went on stage and said, "I have been drawing comics for over 20 years, but for the first time, I have discovered the joy of collaborating. The world is changing so quickly, and I will become an artist who does not lose the narrative until the end."

In addition, Lee Jeong-ha and Go Yun-jeong of ‘Moving’ also won the Best Male and Female Rookie Awards. Lee Jeong-ha said, “It is an infinite honor,” and added, “I realize the meaning of receiving the award and will become a Korean actor following in the footsteps of my wonderful seniors.” In place of Go Yoon-jung, who was unable to participate in the awards ceremony due to personal reasons, Lee Jeong-ha went on stage again and accepted the award on behalf of her, saying, "I will convey the overwhelming emotions I feel to my sister."

At this awards ceremony, the progress of ‘Moving’ stood out. They showed off their potential by lifting trophies in a total of 6 categories. As it was a well-made series that was evaluated as opening a new horizon for 'K-Hero', its presence was remarkable. 'Moving' is a human action series that depicts the story of children living in the present while hiding their superpowers and parents living in the past while hiding painful secrets.

The Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards are awards ceremonies targeting excellent TV, OTT, and online content from Korea and throughout Asia.
