Kim Seo-hyung receives the Independent Film Artist Award... Sweeping 4 trophies this year alone
Kim Seo-hyung won the Independent Film Artist Award for the movie 'Vinyl House' at the '13th Beautiful Artist Awards' held on the 24th.
In response, Kim Seo-hyung said, “I am familiar with TV, but I haven’t been able to show many works in movies. So I had an attachment to the script, and I thought it didn’t matter whether it was a big or small movie. “It hasn’t changed even now,” he said, expressing his love for independent films.
He continued, “I think the role of Munjeong will be no different from me in the present, past, and future. “I thought I would be good at this role, so I didn’t want to do it, but I felt that it was a story about our future as a member of the Republic of Korea before I was an actor,” he said, explaining why he decided to appear.
Lastly, “Thank you to everyone who recognized and reviewed such a ‘green house’. “I also express my respect for the 13th edition of the ‘Beautiful Artist Award,’” he said.
As a result, Kim Seo-hyung has won a total of 4 awards this year alone, including the 'Korean Association of Film Critics Awards (Youngpyeong Awards)', 'Buil Film Award', 'Golden Cinematography Award', Best Actress Award, and 'Beautiful Artist Award'. He attracted attention by appearing in independent films even before the release, and received favorable reviews for playing a big role in improving the quality of the work with the acting experience he had accumulated over the years.
In particular, this work, which went viral thanks to Kim Seo-hyung's outstanding performance, achieved success exceeding 10,000 viewers, which is unusual for an independent film. Among the films produced by the Korean Film Academy, the fact that it attracted 10,000 viewers in just two years also attracted a lot of attention both inside and outside the industry. Recently, it has been attracting attention as it topped the movie popularity rankings immediately after being released on global OTT platforms such as Netflix, Watcha, Wave, and Tving.
Meanwhile, the movie 'Vinyl House' starring Kim Seo-hyung is a story about how Mun-jeong, who lives in a greenhouse and works as a caregiver, makes an irreversible choice to cover up the death of an old woman he was caring for in an accident, leading to catastrophe. It is currently available to watch through various global OTT platforms.
