Director Min Yong-geun revealed that he initially turned down the movie ‘Soulmate’.

On the afternoon of the 28th, a press screening of the movie 'Soul Mate' (directed by Min Yong-geun) was held at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk University entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Actors Kim Da-mi, Jeon So-ni, Byun Woo-seok, and director Min Yong-geun attended the press conference held after the preview.

'Soul Mate' is the story of two friends, Miso (played by Da-mi Kim), Ha-eun (played by So-ni Jeon), and Jin-woo (played by Woo-seok Byeon), who recognized each other from their first meeting and shared everything together, including joy, sadness, excitement, and longing.

Director Min Yong-geun, who made an impressive debut with the movie 'Hyehwa, Dong', returns with 'Soulmate' 10 years after 'A Certain Perspective - Ice River'. It sheds light on not only friendship but also individual life, and by bringing in the subject matter of painting, it not only raises emotions more dramatically, but also differentiates itself from the original work to stimulate interest.

On this day, director Min Yong-geun said, "When I first received an offer to work, I turned it down. In some ways, I had doubts about myself, wondering if I would be able to fully understand emotions even if the environment I grew up in, the friends I met, and the genders were different." I started speaking.

He added, "I was deeply moved by a certain scene in the movie. I felt a lot of emotion from the story of the person I met after traveling for a long time. When I was working on the script and starting the movie, I interviewed many women around me."

Director Min Yong-geun said, "Personally, my family is a family with a lot of women. The things they talked about were not dissimilar to the things I grew up with and saw. When I saw my mother, the women around me, or their relationships, "I thought that the appearance was not ostentatious, but had a subtle yet powerful power. I wanted to capture that aspect in the movie. Although it was a male director, so my point of view was included, I wanted to capture the emotions I saw," he said.

Meanwhile, 'Soulmate' will be released on March 15th.
