Son Seok-gu, Kim Seong-cheol, Kim Dong-hwi, Hong Kyung, cast in 'Comment Unit'
The movie 'Comment Unit' (working title) confirmed the casting of Son Seok-gu, Kim Seong-cheol, Kim Dong-hwi, and Hong Kyung and began filming on the 6th.
'Comment Unit' is a crime drama about reporter Lim Sang-jin, who learns of the existence of the 'Comment Unit' through a tip about online public opinion manipulation, and encounters a huge reality in the process of covering them. Son Seok-gu plays the role of Im Sang-jin, a newspaper reporter who seeks reinstatement after being suspended for writing an article exposing the tyranny of large corporations.
He plans to lead the play by perfectly portraying the character with his captivating performances in the movies 'Crime City 2', 'Loveless Romance', the dramas 'Casino', 'My Liberation Journal', and 'Melodious Constitution'. Here, Kim Seong-cheol, Kim Dong-hwi, and Hong Kyung were cast as members of 'Team Aleph', a comment unit covered by 'Im Sang-jin'. Kim Seong-cheol, who captured the hearts of audiences with his immersive acting skills in movies such as the movie 'The Owl' and the drama 'That Year We Were', played the role of Team ALEEP's 'Jjingpup King'. He plans to realistically portray a character who takes the lead in manipulating public opinion by showing quick thinking in order to make blind money. Chungmuro's rising star Kim Dong-hwi, who has proven his solid capabilities in the movie 'The Mathematician in Wonderland', the dramas 'Secret Forest 2' and 'Missing: They Were There 2', plays the role of 'Chat Tat Kat', who reports the existence of the comment unit to Im Sang-jin. He plans to join in and add tension to the play. Lastly, Hong Kyung, who is attracting attention as a popular actor by showing off his acting potential in the movie 'Innocence' and the drama 'Weak Hero Class 1', played the role of 'Fab-Tack', who feels the power of online public opinion manipulation and becomes increasingly addicted to it.
Meanwhile, director Ahn Kook-jin, who won the grand prize in the Korean competition section of the 16th Jeonju International Film Festival by showing solid storytelling and sensuous directing through 'Alice in Earnestland', is taking the lead in the movie 'Comment Unit', raising expectations.
As he began filming for the first time, Son Seok-gu expressed his feelings about being a crank, saying, "I'm really happy to be working with people I've wanted to work with. I want to do our best together to create a good work." Kim Seong-cheol said, “I thought it was fun and engaging from the moment I read the scenario,” adding to the curiosity about the solid scenario. Kim Dong-hwi said, "I'm excited and looking forward to the few months I'll be spending as 'Chat Tat Kat'," and Hong Kyung said, "When I first saw the script, I was curious about how it would be portrayed. I will work hard to be able to portray my role as 'Fab Tak' well." I expressed my feelings.
Director Ahn Gook-jin also expressed his aspirations, saying, "I am nervous and excited. I will try to make a good movie that can be enjoyed in theaters."
