Yang Yeo-kyung, the first Best Actress in the world, is honored with an Oscar

The 95th Academy Awards were held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA at 5pm (local time) on the 12th. American comedian Jimmy Kimmel served as host.
The day's highest awards, Best Picture and Best Director, went to 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'. In addition, 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' swept a total of seven trophies, including Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing.
In particular, Yang Yeo-gyeong's award for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' received great attention. Yang Yeo-kyung became the first Asian actress to win the Best Actress trophy at the Academy Awards.
Previously, Japanese actress Miyoshi won the Best Supporting Actress Award in 1958 for the movie 'Sayonara', and Korean actress Yoon Yeo-jeong won the Best Supporting Actress Award in 2021 for 'Minari'.
Next, Yang Yang-kyung took over the baton of the Oscar trophy as the first Asian actress. Yang Yeo-kyung was born in Malaysia in 1962. She entered the entertainment industry as Miss Malaysia and began acting mainly in Hong Kong. Recognized in Hong Kong, he has proven his worth as an actor by advancing to Hollywood, USA, in films such as '007 Never Dies', 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', 'Memoirs of a Geisha', and 'Crazy Rich Asians'.
'Everything, Everywhere All at Once', which was the main character of this year's Oscars, including Yang Ja-kyung's Best Actress win, tells the story of Evelyn (played by Yang Ja-kyung), a first-generation immigrant to the United States, as she travels across the multiverse.
On this day, Yang Yeo-gyeong held the Oscar trophy for Best Actress and said, "I hope this will be a spark of hope for the young children watching like me tonight. I hope it becomes a possibility, and I hope they show them that dreaming big and making dreams come true." He said. She then received loud applause by saying, "Women, please never believe the people who say your golden years are over."
He thanked the film's director and staff. “I end with my mother and all the mothers in the world, because they are heroes,” he said, adding, “If it weren’t for them, none of them would be here today.”
“I will take this trophy to my 84-year-old mother who is watching from Malaysia,” he said. “I started my career in Hong Kong. I am grateful to my relatives in Hong Kong. I am grateful to my children, my brothers and sisters and their families. “Do it,” he said.
