Park Seong-gwang, “Curiosity seems to be the secret to recruiting Lee Yi-kyung and Choi Min-soo”

Director Park Seong-gwang, who directed the movie 'Woongnam', revealed the secret behind his casting.

On the afternoon of the 14th, a press screening for the movie 'Woongnam' (directed by Park Seong-gwang) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Park Seong-kwang, actors Park Seong-woong, Lee Yi-kyung, and Choi Min-soo attended the press conference held after the preview.

'Woongnam' is a comical action film in which a man with a special secret called Asiatic Black Bear uses his unique beast-like abilities to cooperate in an investigation against an international criminal organization.

Comedian Park Seong-gwang directed the short film ‘Swear’ in early 2011. He then directed the short film 'Sad Because It's Not Sad' in 2017 and the film project 'Strong', which was part of 'Don Rix 2' in 2020. For him, ‘Woongnam’ is his first commercial film.

On this day, director Park Seong-gwang said ahead of the release, "I'm both excited and nervous. I have a lot of mixed emotions. I don't know what will happen in a week, and I hope it's filled with only good things."

Director Park Seong-gwang said about the secret of casting, "Some people were cast through close friends. They gave me the scenario and gave it to me officially before giving permission, and there was also someone from the production company who helped me. It was my first time (directing), and the actors were unfamiliar, so I thought, 'Let's give it a try.' ?’, ‘What would it be like if a comedian directed as a director?’ I think the secret is the curiosity.”

Meanwhile, 'Woongnam' will be released on the 22nd.
