Park Seong-woong "Playing two roles in 'Woongnam' is physically difficult"
On the afternoon of the 14th, a press screening for the movie 'Woongnam' (directed by Park Seong-gwang) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Park Seong-kwang, actors Park Seong-woong, Lee Yi-kyung, and Choi Min-soo attended the press conference held after the preview.
'Woongnam' is a comical action film in which a man with a special secret called Asiatic Black Bear uses his unique beast-like abilities to cooperate in an investigation against an international criminal organization.
In the play, Park Seong-woong plays Woong-nam, a former police officer and now an unemployed local man, and Eung-buk, the second-in-command of an international criminal organization.
On this day, Park Seong-woong said, "I think I was the first to receive the script. Director Park Seong-gwang and I have known each other for 14 years, and we are like older and younger brothers. 14 years ago, while drinking, he happened to say, 'I will become a director and give you a scenario.' 12 years later, I received that script. "He came. I couldn't get rid of him anyway. He used me openly. I couldn't run away. I think we discussed and discussed together in a good direction. I said I would do it as soon as I received it."
He said, "The character originally had a big gap, so there was nothing difficult about acting. When I was acting as Woong-nam, I was with actor Lee Yi-kyung, so it came out naturally. When I was with Min-su, I was bored. Lee Jeong-hak just came out as he was. Min-su said, 'Taewangsa Temple.' "I've seen him since 'Shinki'. He's innocent, but he's not funny. My adoptive father helped me a lot in portraying Lee Jeong-hak," he said. Choi Min-soo, hearing this, jumped up and laughed.
Park Seong-woong said, "What was really difficult was the underwater scene. I had to act in one suit, then change again before going in. I put on a suit, carried a case, put on shoes, and went in. Even if I struggled, the arm wouldn't come up. I did it with 4kg of lead in it. But, I did it." “I couldn’t come up. It was physically quite difficult,” he confessed.
Meanwhile, 'Woongnam' will be released on the 22nd.
