'Critic's harsh criticism controversy' Park Seong-gwang's 'Woongnam'

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 23rd, 'Woongnam' (director Park Seong-gwang) ranked second in the box office, attracting 27,698 people on the first day of its release. The cumulative number of viewers was 31,599.
'Woongnam' is a comedy about the ups and downs of Woongnam (played by Park Sung-woong), who fights against an international criminal organization with beast-like abilities that transcend humans. It attracted attention as it was Park Seong-gwang's first commercial film as director. In particular, a film critic recently left a harsh review and controversy after watching 'Woongnam', leaving a rating of 1.5 with the comment, 'Did this place look that easy?' There was also criticism that the one-line review was a personal attack on Park Seong-gwang rather than the work, as well as public opinion that it contained a sense of superiority of movies as a higher culture than comedy.
Regarding this, Park Seong-kwang expressed his belief, "I may have some shortcomings, but I try not to lose courage. I am a weak person who needs to work harder and learn, but the actors made up for the shortcomings. I will "work harder and learn more."
'Suzume's Lockdown', which is still in first place, attracted 69,375 viewers, bringing the cumulative number of viewers to 2,141,388. 'Suzume's Lockdown' is adding audiences at the fastest rate among movies released domestically this year.
Third place is 'The First Slam Dunk' (directed by Takehiko Inoue), which is enjoying a long run at the box office, mobilizing 8,267 viewers.
The movie 'Soul Mate' (directed by Min Yong-geun) ranked 4th, attracting 8,120 people. Actor Jeon Jong-seo's Hollywood debut film 'Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon' was seen by 5,492 people.
