Lee Ha-nui and Lee Seon-kyun, the crazy secrets they keep hidden away
On the morning of the 24th, a production briefing session for the movie ‘Killing Romance’ (directed by Lee Won-seok) was held at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk University entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Won-seok, actors Lee Ha-nui, Lee Sun-kyun, and Bae Yu-ram attended the event.
Director Won-seok Lee, who directed 'Men's Manual', and Jeong-ye Park, writer of 'Beauty Inside', began their work under the motto of "let's create something that has never existed in the world." As the title is 'Killing Romance', the formula of romance genre films was excluded and a story close to anti-romance was completed.
He continued, "He said he would let me do whatever I wanted to do. This is something I have never heard in my entire life. I was told not to do it since I was young, but they even gave me money and told me to do whatever I wanted, so I started doing it. There are many reasons. "I did my best under the circumstances. The actors worked very hard. They went above and beyond," he added.
The reason for casting Lee Sun-kyun was also mentioned. Director Lee Won-seok said, "I got a lot of calls from people around me saying that 'My Mister' was fun. So, while I was watching it, an advertisement for gum supplements appeared in the middle. I couldn't concentrate while watching 'My Mister'. But I thought this person must be unusual. After meeting him and getting to know him, I was really close. “It was funny. He’s one of the top 5 funniest people I know. I wanted him to show his hidden crazy side. I was surprised that he presented a character who crossed the line first.”
In addition, Lee Ha-nui said, "I really threw it without any middle ground. I felt the determination and determination to create an unprecedented character. I wondered what the Tathagata next to Nathan would be like. There was a mutual relationship like action and reaction. It had an impact. The Tathagata itself also had an influence. He expressed his satisfaction, saying, "It's a very unique character. I can portray it, but it's also attractive. It's a character that I found enjoyable to play. I had fun filming it."
Jonathan, played by Lee Sun-kyun, is a tycoon who offers a helping hand to Tathagata, who has entered Kuala Island in the South Pacific while avoiding public attention. Lee Sun-kyun attracts attention by attempting an unconventional transformation. Seon-kyun Lee said, "What kind of movie is this? There were a lot of people asking what the genre was. We talked a lot among ourselves. I wanted to show you stills. It was a happy film, so even though it hasn't been released yet, I think it was successful in arousing curiosity."
Seon-gyun Lee said, “This is my first time playing an exaggerated character. I went entirely in that direction (Jonathan). I went to Jonathan’s side and acted. As I built the character, I was able to act more freely.” He added, “There was help with everything from hair to mustache makeup to costumes. There were no aftereffects.” “I was drawing eyeliner, but it felt empty,” he said. In response, Lee Ha-nui made everyone laugh by saying, "He said he felt empty because he didn't have eyeliner. Then he said he should join. He said he would like me to remain as my oppa's secondary character." Lee Seon-gyun said, “We decided to go on ‘Mr. Trot 3’ together.”
Meanwhile, 'Killing Romance' will be released on April 14th.
