Director of ‘Killing Romance’: “Thank you to Rain for calling me without pay.”
Interview with director Lee Won-seok of the movie 'Killing Romance'

On the morning of the 13th, director Lee Won-seok told various stories related to the upcoming movie 'Killing Romance' at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
'Killing Romance' is about top star Yeorae (played by Lee Ha-nui), who suddenly announces her retirement after falling in love with island tycoon Jonathan (played by Lee Seon-gyun), and meets Beom-woo (played by Gong Myeong) ), a student from the 3rd fan club, and plots an extraordinary comeback plan. It's a story.

On this day, Director Lee Won-seok said, "When the script for 'Killing Romance' first came out, I thought it was Lee Ha-nui and gave it to her. I heard that Lee Ha-nui was seriously considering appearing in the role. In a way, I wondered who could play the character in a fairy tale who lives in confinement. Also, when I thought about who could be the one who could be shameless, natural, and beautiful in everything from a dramatic drama. to a comedy, there was only Lee Ha-nui. I asked writer Park Jeong-hee if she should do it," he said.
In the play, Lee Ha-nui sang 'Tathoraism', a parody of Rain's 'Rainism', and Wild Chrysanthemum's 'Please'. Regarding this, "Someone said, 'Rainism' was written because of 'Gang'. When you hear the song 'Rainism', you feel shameless and cringe, but when you listen to it, don't you feel like you own the world ? So (from the Tathagata's perspective) ) I ended up choosing that song.”
Director Lee Won-seok said it was unfair. He said, "I did '1 gang a day' even before 'Gang' became popular. I wondered how in the world such a song was made, but a few years later, 'Gang' became popular. Regardless, I liked the ' Rainism’ song. “From the beginning, I was like, ‘Wow,’” he explained.

Seon-kyun Lee also sings. This is HOT's 'happiness'. Director Lee Won-seok said, "'Happiness' is a song that forces universal happiness. I looked for a song with the concept of repeatedly becoming something, like the villain gaslighting in the play. 'Happiness' makes me happy. HOT's song still makes me happy. Isn't it going to be a remake? It was good in that respect. In fact, when the song wasn't decided, I was eating cold noodles with actor Lee Sun-gyun and asked what 'happiness' would be like. Then I met a HOT member sitting at the table next to me. He knew actor Lee Sun-kyun well. “I wasn't sure who it was. It wasn't Kangta,” he said, making everyone laugh.
Meanwhile, 'Killing Romance' will be released on the 14th.
