Jang Dong-yoon “I had a lot of video calls with Park Yuna”
On the 25th, a press preview of the movie 'Long D' (directed by Lim Jae-wan) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Actors Jang Dong-yoon, Park Yu-na, and director Lim Jae-wan attended the press conference held after the preview.
'Long D' tells the untact love story of Do-ha (played by Jang Dong-yoon) and Tae-in (played by Park Yu-na), a couple of the same age who have been in a long-distance relationship for five years before turning 30.
In the play, Jang Dong-yoon plays the role of Do-ha, a newcomer to society. Doha fell in love with Taein at first sight when she saw him singing on the streets of Hongdae five years ago. We started out as fans and became lovers.
On this day, Jang Dong-yoon said, "I acted more through video calls than face-to-face. I thought about that part a lot with the director. Surprisingly, I got closer and saw more people while preparing in advance than if we met each other on set." .
He continued, "Actor Go Geon-han, who played James Han, was already close to me, so we (with Park Yoo-na) set up a meeting together as three of us and went for a walk and talked a lot. Especially since we were playing an old couple, we went through a process of getting to know each other to show our friendly side." He added.
Jang Dong-yoon said, "Because most of the scenes involved video calls, I couldn't actually film the video call scenes. There were technical limitations, so it may vary depending on the time, but in most cases, I had to look into the camera lens and act alone."
Also, "I actually had a lot of video calls with actress Park Yu-na. For the video call scenes, I laid out the scripts and thought, 'This is what it must feel like.' I actually acted without seeing the other person's reaction, so I had a lot of video calls with actress Park Yu-na in advance. That helped. “It’s done,” he said.
Meanwhile, 'Long D' will be released on May 10th.
