Jang Hang-jun and Ahn Jae-hong's 'Rebound', Grand Prize at Udine Far East Film Festival
According to distributor Barunson E&A on the 8th, 'Rebound' won the Silver Mulberry in the competition section of the 25th Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy.
'Rebound' is a miraculous story of 8 days during the 2012 National High School Basketball Tournament, when a new coach and 6 players of the weakest basketball team that no one paid attention to ran tirelessly. It was created based on the true story of Busan Jungang High School's success in the 2012 Korea Basketball Association National Middle and High School Basketball Tournament.
At the Udine Far East Film Festival, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, director Jang Hang-jun, who directed 'Rebound', writer Kim Eun-hee, and actor Jeong Jin-woon attended and met audiences from all over the world. In particular, 'Rebound' was honored with the Silver Mulberry, the grand prize chosen by the audience, overcoming fierce competition from 43 films from various Asian countries submitted in the competition section.
Sabrina Barasetti, executive director of the Udine Far East Film Festival, said, "'Rebound' is a film that touches the heart with its convincing and detailed basketball scenes and comical and touching inserts. Everyone expressed their appreciation for the courage and honesty of the story." said. He added, "'Rebound' was one of the most successful films introduced during the festival, and received a very high rating of 4.60 out of 5."
