The 28th Busan International Film Festival unveiled 10 films selected for the 'Today of Korean Cinema - Vision' section that will lead the future of Korean independent films.

This is the section that first presents the latest Korean independent films, and the selected films receive great attention from the domestic and international film industry every year, such as being screened as world premieres at the Busan International Film Festival, officially released in Korea, or receiving love calls from leading film festivals.

Director Lee Ok-seop's 'Catfish' (2018), director Kim Cho-hee's 'Chansil Has Many Corridors' (2019), and director Cho Hyun-cheol's 'You and I' (2022) are representative works discovered by Korean Cinema Today - Vision. Director Yoo Ji-young's 'Birth' (2022), an invited film last year, won the grand prize in the Proxima competition section of the 2023 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. This year, 10 works with mature themes that ask questions to the audience, focusing on life, suffering, family love, and the inner self of the individual, were selected for 'Korean Cinema Today - Vision', which has been reborn as a cradle for discovering Korean independent films and new directors.
