Song Kang-ho's 'Spider's House' invited to the competition section at the Sydney Film Festival... Compete with 'Monsters'
The movie 'The Spider's House' (directed by Kim Jee-woon), which was invited to the non-competitive section of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival, has been officially invited to the competitive section of the 70th Sydney Film Festival.

The Sydney Film Festival, which has been held every June since 1954, will be held from the 7th to the 18th of this year, and 'The Spider's Nest' will be screened twice on the 17th and 18th.

The Official Competition, where 'The Spider's House' was officially invited, is a section that competes for the Sydney Film Prize Winners, the top prize of the Sydney Film Festival. “Monster” by master director Hirokazu Kore-eda, “Fallen Leaves” by director Aki Kaurismaki, who won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and “Fast Lives” by director Celine Song invited to compete at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival (Past Lives) and 13 prominent topical works were listed.

As for Korean films, 'Broker' (22) by director Hirokazu Kore-eda was invited, and in particular, 'Parasite' by director Bong Joon-ho won the award in the same competition in 2019.

Director Kim Jee-woon will attend the official screening of 'The Spider's House', introduce the film before the screening, and have an in-depth conversation with the audience after the screening.

Sydney Film Festival executive director Nashen Moodley said, "I was absolutely mesmerized by the film and couldn't stop laughing throughout watching it. Above all, 'The Spider's House' is a brilliant and brilliant depiction of the pains of creation. It's an amazing piece of work," he said.

In the 1970s, director Kim, who believed that reshooting the ending of the finished film 'The Spider's Nest' would make it a masterpiece, portrayed what happens when actors and producers, who do not understand the censorship and the changed content, push for reshoots.

Song Kang-ho, Lim Soo-jung, Oh Jeong-se, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Jeong Su-jeong appeared in the film, while director Kim Ji-woon of 'In-Rang', 'The Secret Service', 'I Saw the Devil', and 'The Good, the Bad, and the Weird' took the megaphone. It is scheduled to open this year.
