'Devils' Oh Dae-hwan "I want to play the villainous loan shark in 'Hounds' played by Park Sung-woong"

On the 27th, I met actor Oh Dae-hwan (43), who has been debuting for 20 years, at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. From a small role in the 2004 movie “Bridal Class” to his first screen lead role in the 2023 movie “Devils,” we were able to hear the story of the human “Oh Dae-hwan.”

Starting with Detective Wang in the movie 'Veteran', Oh Dae-hwan made an eye for the public as a 'luxurious supporting actor' by acting as Ma Jin-seok in OCN's '38 Swindlers', Kang Tae-ho in MBC's 'Red Sleeves', and Lee Yong-ki in OCN's 'Life on Mars'. He took pictures and showed off his presence.

Oh Dae-hwan, who became an 'honorary police officer' for his work in MBC Every1's 'Rural Police', has taken on a number of detective roles. In this movie, he also plays the role of 'Jae-hwan', a detective who is chasing the heinous murderer 'Jin-hyeok'. I asked Oh Dae-hwan if there was a role he wanted to try.

“I want to play a vicious villain with no story and no narrative like Jin-hyeok in ‘Devils. I also want to play the role of Kim Myeong-gil, a villainous moneylender in ‘Hounds’.”

Then, he replied, "I aim for a role that is common in everyday life. I like my father, I like the neighborhood type, and I like the rural youth. It's similar to my personality."

As a father of three sons and one daughter, he expressed his affection for his family by saying that he went on a family trip earlier this year.

“I plan to go on a family trip a lot when I’m resting. I rented a camper and went on a trip a while ago. ."

Then, he said, "I have to work until my youngest son goes to college. I have 12 years left." He said, "I've been interested in my health lately. His forearms were as big as his face. So I thought about arm wrestling, but I won. I can't win because I'm born with it."

'Devils' is a body-changing action thriller depicting the confrontation between the murderer 'Jin-hyeok' (Jang Dong-yoon) and the detective 'Jae-hwan' (Oh Dae-hwan), who switched bodies the moment they were arrested.

It will be released on July 5th.
