IU Discusses Chemistry with Byeon Woo-seok in '21st Century Grand Princess'

Actress and singer IU opened up about her chemistry with Byeon Woo-seok.

On the 27th, the YouTube channel 'Cosmopolitan Korea' released a video titled '21st Century Grand Princess | IU vs. Lee Yeon Aegyo Battle?'. The video features IU and Lee Yeon, who are starring in the drama '21st Century Grand Princess', candidly sharing behind-the-scenes stories and personal anecdotes.

During the video, IU and Lee Yeon discussed their first impressions of each other. IU recalled, "I first met him at an awards ceremony a year before we were cast. I was already a fan and told him, 'I hope we can work together someday.' His eyes showed both the passion and poise of a newcomer."

Lee Yeon responded, "She looked like a Disney princess," recalling IU in a dress and full makeup. "We were at the same table, and she greeted me first. It was wonderful," he added.

When asked about the highlights of '21st Century Grand Princess', Lee Yeon quickly replied, "Ji-eun and Woo-seok. They look stunning."

IU described the drama as "romantic and comedic," explaining, "Director Park Joon-hwa is known for his excellent handling of comedy and romance. There are comedic scenes created through ad-libs beyond the script."

She added, "Woo-seok and I also created comedic scenes through ad-libs when joking around. As the story becomes more serious and the romance deepens, the atmosphere shifts, perfectly blending comedy and romance."

IU rated her chemistry with her co-stars as "98 out of 100. A perfect score is unrealistic," showcasing their strong rapport.

IU sent a playful message to Director Park Joon-hwa, "Director, you're editing well, right? You promised to make us all stars, remember? We're promoting with that promise in mind. Thinking about becoming stars excites us," she said, adding, "If you finish well, we'll treat you to a nice meal," bringing laughter.

Meanwhile, IU shared that she is preparing for a comeback as a singer with a new album.
