Major K-Pop Agencies Join Forces for Global Expansion of K-Culture
South Korea's top four entertainment agencies—HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment—are joining forces to expand K-Culture into the global market.

On the 16th, JYP Entertainment announced, "We are discussing public-private partnership strategies with the government's Popular Culture Exchange Committee to promote the global expansion of the K-Culture industry." The company confirmed that the four agencies in the music division of the committee are in the process of establishing a corporation to launch the 'Fanomenon' event.

This collaboration is part of the efforts to realize the global K-pop festival project spearheaded by Park Jin-young, chairman of the Popular Culture Exchange Committee. Last October, during the committee's inauguration, Park mentioned plans to host a large-scale event called 'Fanomenon,' combining 'Fan' and 'Phenomenon,' across the globe.

Park has previously outlined a vision to create world-class K-pop dedicated venues and organize a global music festival that surpasses the likes of Coachella. The move to establish a joint corporation is seen as a step towards materializing these plans.

According to JYP Entertainment, the four companies are currently exploring various collaborative structures to ensure stable business operations. This includes undergoing necessary legal and administrative procedures, such as filing a business combination report with the Fair Trade Commission.

A representative from JYP Entertainment stated, "We are in the early stages of review, so specific business details and operational methods have not been finalized." They added, "We plan to make careful business decisions by considering market conditions and gathering opinions from various sectors."
