Actress Moon Ji-in Opens Up About Past Miscarriage Trauma and Announces Pregnancy

Actress Moon Ji-in has captured attention by revealing her past miscarriage trauma and announcing her pregnancy.

On the 17th, a video titled 'We're Pregnant Too: Moon Ji-in X Kim Ki-ri' was uploaded to the YouTube channel '~'. In the video, Moon Ji-in shared her pregnancy journey. She stated, "I was blessed to become pregnant almost immediately after getting married, within six months," adding, "But after the miscarriage, I became very anxious about preparing for another pregnancy."

Miscarriage After Six Months of Marriage, Dedicated a Year to Pregnancy Preparation

Moon Ji-in explained, "I became so anxious that I tried everything. A year flew by as I went through artificial insemination and IVF. I even stopped playing soccer, which I love, and took a break from work to focus on preparing for pregnancy. It was during this time of rest that 'Saengmyeong' (the baby's nickname) came to us."

Delayed Hospital Visit to Overcome Trauma

Notably, she did not immediately visit the hospital after confirming her pregnancy, which sparked interest. Moon Ji-in confessed, "Normally, I would have gone to the hospital by now, but this time I decided to wait until the test line became much darker than the control line, indicating a strong pregnancy. I believe I will feel less anxious once I can see the gestational sac."

She shared, "In the past, I would have gone to the hospital right away, but going too early caused a lot of emotional distress as I waited week by week. The growth was slow enough to anticipate a missed miscarriage." She added, "Being told to come back in two weeks felt like 20 years. It was so difficult that I'm waiting until I can confirm the yolk sac and gestational sac."

Overwhelmed with Emotion After Hearing Fetal Heartbeat

Once the test line darkened, Moon Ji-in visited the hospital with her husband, comedian Kim Ki-ri. After confirming the gestational sac, she expressed relief, "Last year, there was always a sense of unease during the pregnancy. The growth felt half a beat slower due to anxiety. I experienced a missed miscarriage without hearing the heartbeat. But this time, I saw the gestational sac, and they said it was 5 weeks and 2 days."

With a trembling heart, Moon Ji-in was overwhelmed with emotion upon hearing the fetal heartbeat. She shared, "I must have been struggling so much since the miscarriage. I don't usually cry like this, but the tears kept coming. I couldn't even look at the ultrasound."

Meanwhile, Moon Ji-in and Kim Ki-ri tied the knot in May 2024.
