Jay Park Reflects on 2PM Departure After 17 Years: 'I Felt Sorry and Regretful'
On October 5th, the YouTube channel 'Eyes Magazine' released a video titled 'The Song That Changed Jay Park's Life.' In the video, Jay Park shares his playlist and discusses the stories behind each song while sitting in a studio.
A particularly striking moment in the video is when Jay Park reflects on his departure from 2PM. He stated, "I just felt sorry and regretful," adding, "I ended up causing inconvenience and harm to many people." He continued, "But I don't feel anxious. I truly live by going with the flow."
When the host asked about the cover video he uploaded from Seattle using a MacBook gifted by a fan after his departure, Jay Park responded, "That's the reason I was able to make a comeback. YouTube was really booming at the time," and humorously added, "I'm the original YouTuber," eliciting laughter.
Previously, in 2009, Jay Park left 2PM after a controversy arose over comments he made on American social media that were perceived as critical of Korea. He returned to the U.S. but re-debuted as a solo artist in 2010. Since then, he has established labels such as AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC, continuing his career as a singer and producer.
