'The Last: Secretly Greatly' Tops Musical Box Office on Its 10th Anniversary
According to the data released by the Korea Performing Arts Box Office Information System (KOPIS) on the 25th, 'Secretly Greatly: THE LAST' ranked second overall in the daily box office for performances on the 24th, making it the number one musical.
'Secretly Greatly' is based on a webtoon of the same name, which boasts over 10 million readers. The story follows elite agents from North Korea's 5446 special task force who infiltrate a South Korean neighborhood under the guise of a fool, an aspiring singer, and a high school student, all while carrying the mission of national reunification. The webtoon was also adapted into a film in 2013, starring actor Kim Soo-hyun.
The cast includes idol stars such as Kim Dong-jun, Oh Jong-hyuk, Niel, Youngbin, Mingyu, and Lee Ji-ham, drawing significant attention.
Audience reviews are varied and enthusiastic. Comments on ticketing platforms include, “The first act was intense with energy and tempo, while the second act posed profound questions about 'ordinary life,' leaving a strong impression,” “The actors' precise choreography, powerful vocals, and cinematic performances were outstanding,” and “The 10th-anniversary performance delivered a spectacular and moving experience worthy of a grand theater.”
Meanwhile, 'Secretly Greatly: THE LAST' will continue to run until April 26 at the NOL Theater Woori Card Hall in Daehangno, Seoul.
