G-Dragon Inspires Graduates at KAIST's 2026 Commencement Ceremony
G-Dragon, also known as Kwon Ji-yong, a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), delivered an inspiring message to graduates at the 2026 KAIST Commencement Ceremony.

On the 20th, at the main campus in Daejeon, G-Dragon addressed the graduates via video, encouraging them as they take their first steps into society. The event was also attended by President Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung.

In his congratulatory speech, G-Dragon began by saying, "Congratulations. Sincerely, congratulations. You have achieved this, and you will continue to achieve more." He continued, "You are now stepping into a world without definite answers. It's okay to make mistakes, as long as you don't stop. The courage to choose a different path will ultimately take you the farthest. Start freely today," emphasizing the courage to embrace failure.

G-Dragon's speech served as a powerful encouragement to KAIST graduates stepping out into the challenging world beyond predetermined exams.

The graduates responded with cheers and applause to the warm encouragement and support from the iconic figure.

G-Dragon's association with KAIST dates back to June 2024, when he was appointed as a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. KAIST announced the appointment with the aim of integrating cutting-edge science and technology with K-content and the cultural industry to enhance the global competitiveness of Korean culture.
