Chungju YouTube Star Kim Seon-tae Resigns, Meets with South Korean Presidential Office
Kim Seon-tae, the driving force behind the Chungju YouTube channel, has announced his resignation, sparking interest in his future endeavors after reportedly having tea at the South Korean Presidential Office.

According to multiple sources on the 19th, the Presidential Office recently interviewed Kim, who is currently on leave after submitting his resignation, to discuss his future plans. Kim confirmed meeting with officials at the Presidential Office but clarified that he did not receive any specific public office offers.

Previously, on the 13th, Kim announced his resignation and bid farewell to his subscribers. He expressed gratitude, saying, "The small success I achieved was thanks to the support of my subscribers," and added, "The seven years I spent with you were the happiest of my life." He also extended his thanks to the citizens of Chungju and his colleagues.

Born in 1987, Kim has been in charge of creating content for the Chungju YouTube channel since 2018. His witty promotional videos, characterized by a 'B-grade sensibility,' gained significant online attention and were praised for presenting a new model for local government promotion.

As the head of the New Media Team, he grew the channel's subscriber base to approximately 975,000, earning the title of 'civil servant influencer.' In late 2023, he was promoted to a Grade 6 position after seven years of service, drawing further attention.
