GOLDMEDALIST CEO Resigns Amidst Ongoing Dispute Involving Kim Soo-hyun
According to a report by TENASIA on the 28th, An Sung-soo left the company approximately two months ago. An was present at Kim Soo-hyun's press conference held on March 31 at the Stanford Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul. A former executive from Hanwha has since taken over his position.
This leadership change occurs amidst ongoing disputes involving Kim Soo-hyun and the family of the late Kim Sae-ron. An Sung-soo, who joined GOLDMEDALIST earlier this year, resigned after about nine months.
Prior to the public revelation of the so-called 'Kim Soo-hyun incident,' another CEO, referred to as Mr. A, also left the company around December last year. Mr. A was involved in negotiations regarding compensation following Kim Sae-ron's DUI incident. It is reported that Mr. A understood Kim Sae-ron's difficult circumstances and made efforts to prevent gift taxes from being imposed while not reclaiming the loan.
Currently, Kim Soo-hyun is facing allegations of having dated the late Kim Sae-ron for six years since she was a minor. Initially denying the relationship, Kim Soo-hyun later stated they dated after she became an adult. However, controversy arose when letters Kim sent to the deceased during his military service were revealed on YouTube. Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16, Kim Soo-hyun's birthday. Legal battles between Kim Soo-hyun and the late Kim Sae-ron's family continue.
