Former T-ara Member Ahreum's Appeal in Child Abuse Case Dismissed

Former T-ara member Ahreum (real name Lee Ah-reum) faced a setback as her appeal against a suspended prison sentence for child abuse and defamation charges was dismissed.

According to legal sources on the 9th, the Suwon District Court's 6-1 Criminal Division dismissed Ahreum's appeal last month, upholding the initial verdict on charges of child abuse and defamation.

Previously, in January, the Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Court sentenced Lee Ah-reum to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, along with a mandatory 40-hour child abuse prevention lecture. Ahreum had appealed this decision.

The legal battle between Ahreum and her ex-husband centered around allegations of child abuse. Ahreum was accused of emotional abuse, including verbal abuse towards her ex-husband in front of their child.
