Comedian Lee Kyung-sil Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Late Jeon Yoo-sung
On the 26th, Lee Kyung-sil shared on her account, "After finishing the Wednesday recording, I felt it might be too late if I didn't go now, so I left. I arrived at Jeonbuk National University Hospital around 5:30 PM and was able to see him," she wrote. "His family, including his daughter and son-in-law, were there, and fellow comedian Kim Shin-young was tirelessly caring for him, changing the wet towels," she added. "He seemed to have a fever, rolling up his patient pants and using wet towels to cool down while on an oxygen mask," she described.
Lee Kyung-sil shared that she had a brief but deep conversation with him, revealing their last exchange. Jeon Yoo-sung said, "Thank you for coming. I'm always proud of you all. Stay healthy," to which Lee Kyung-sil replied, "We always felt secure because of you. Thank you for always checking in on us first. I'm grateful," expressing her affection.
Lee Kyung-sil continued, "He tried to convey even one more word to me. I tried to hide my teary eyes by wiping his hand with a wet towel," she said. "I couldn't help but pray. It was heartbreaking to see him struggle to breathe," she added. "I received a message at 9:05 PM last night that he had passed away," she concluded.
Lee Kyung-sil bid her final farewell, "Brother, you did well. Your life was wonderful and grand. Don't be in pain anymore and rest peacefully. Time with you was always happy. It was joyful and I was thankful. I will always miss you. Goodbye, brother. Farewell."
The late Jeon Yoo-sung passed away on the evening of the 25th at 9:05 PM due to worsening symptoms of pneumothorax. His wake is being held at Room 1 of Seoul Asan Hospital, with his daughter Jeon Jae-bi listed as the chief mourner. The funeral will take place on the morning of the 28th at 8 AM.
