Actor Yoo Ah-in Spotted with Director Bong Joon-ho Amidst Legal Troubles

The latest update on actor Yoo Ah-in has surfaced.

DJ and producer Peggy Gou shared a photo on her account on the 3rd, captioning it, “Fav(favorite) director! Love Bong director,” featuring director Bong Joon-ho and friends.

In the released photo, Yoo Ah-in is seen smiling brightly next to director Bong Joon-ho. He is dressed in all-black attire and wearing a cap.

Yoo Ah-in was indicted for habitual use of medical propofol under the guise of cosmetic procedure sedation 181 times from September 2020 to March 2022 at hospitals around Seoul.

Additionally, from May 2021 to August 2023, he was accused of illegally obtaining over 1,100 doses of two types of sleeping pills under another person's name 44 times. He also faced charges for smoking marijuana in the U.S. with Choi and others in January last year and encouraging others to smoke.

In September last year, Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison and was taken into custody. However, in February, his sentence was reduced to one year with a two-year probation during the appeal, leading to his release.

The appellate court considered Yoo Ah-in's long-term struggle with sleep disorders and depression, as well as his deep reflection during five months of incarceration, as reasons for the reduced sentence.
