Reality TV Star Ha Jung-mok Issues Apology Amid Controversy

On the 5th, Ha Jung-mok took to his social media account to post a lengthy message. He stated, "Regardless of my intentions, I am responsible for everything that was shown on the broadcast. I sincerely apologize to everyone who felt discomfort or displeasure due to my shortcomings. I am truly sorry."
He continued, "I have parted ways with Ji-yeon, with whom I became a final couple on the show. I hesitated to share this news out of fear of further negative reactions, but I realized it would be disrespectful to the fans of the program. I am sorry to those who supported us."
Ha Jung-mok added, "I have always believed myself to be a decent person, so accepting the negative perceptions about me has been confusing and challenging. Watching my family get hurt alongside me has been incredibly painful, making the past month one of the hardest times in my life. Nevertheless, I am listening to and reflecting on all the criticism and feedback from everyone."
Previously, Ha Jung-mok faced backlash for his behavior towards female contestant Lee Do during the show.

Hello, this is Ha Jung-mok from 'Born Single but Want to Date.' I want to thank all the viewers who loved and supported our program during this unusually hot summer. Each day the show aired was a painful and embarrassing time for me as I faced my foolish and inadequate self. Looking back, the disappointment and shame I felt towards myself were more challenging than the negative public perception. I cannot easily use the word 'truth.' Regardless of my true intentions, I believe I cannot reverse the consequences of my actions. Therefore, I take full responsibility for everything that appeared on the broadcast, whether intentional or not. I sincerely apologize to everyone who felt discomfort or displeasure due to my shortcomings. I am truly sorry. I have parted ways with Ji-yeon, with whom I became a final couple on the show. I hesitated to share this news out of fear of further negative reactions, but I realized it would be disrespectful to the fans of the program. I am sorry to those who supported us. I have always believed myself to be a decent person, so accepting the negative perceptions about me has been confusing and challenging. Watching my family get hurt alongside me has been incredibly painful, making the past month one of the hardest times in my life. Nevertheless, I am listening to and reflecting on all the criticism and feedback from everyone. I am committed to reflecting on my shortcomings and striving to become a better person. Please do not hate me too much. Thank you. Sincerely, Ha Jung-mok.
