Previously, an online community post claimed that "800,000 won was sent from my ex-boyfriend's agency." The author, identified as A, stated, "My ex-boyfriend is set to appear on a variety show within six months to reveal his wedding preparations with his new girlfriend. I received a call offering 800,000 won as a preemptive consolation, saying the dates might not align." A further explained, "When I asked for clarification, I was told that the dating timeline might suggest he was seeing someone else before we broke up, implying a rebound or infidelity."

A added, "The agency requested that I refrain from mentioning the dating timeline. Whether I broke up with him or didn't marry him is between us, but finding out it was a double dating situation and refusing the hush money of 800,000 won is my choice."

A described the ex-boyfriend as "not a hot actor, but recognizable to those over 30." This led to speculation online that the initials of the male celebrity were 'ㅇㅈㅇ,' with Lee Jang-woo's name being mentioned in the process.

Lee Jang-woo is set to marry fellow actress Jo Hye-won in November after seven years of dating. The couple met in 2018 through the KBS2 drama 'My Only One' and have been publicly dating since 2023.
