Former Baseball Player Jang Won-sam Fined for DUI Incident
Former professional baseball player Jang Won-sam has been fined for a DUI incident, a fact that has only recently come to light.

According to legal sources on the 8th, the Busan District Court's Eastern Branch issued a summary order on March 6, fining Jang 7 million won for charges including violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents (causing injury). This order was finalized on March 26.

Jang was accused of reversing his car while intoxicated and hitting a parked vehicle's bumper in front of an apartment complex in Suyeong District, Busan, on August 17 last year at around 1:20 PM.

At the time, Jang's blood alcohol concentration was confirmed to be 0.09%, which is above the legal limit for license revocation (0.08%).

The driver of the damaged vehicle reportedly suffered a back injury due to the accident.

Additionally, Jang was accused of driving under the influence for approximately 40 kilometers from Changwon, Gyeongnam to Suyeong District, Busan, before the accident.

Following the incident, Jang admitted on his social media, "It is true that I caused a minor accident while driving under the influence," and apologized, saying, "I am sincerely sorry for disappointing everyone." He added, "Although I did not drink on the day of the accident, I should have used public transportation if I still felt the effects of alcohol. I drank the day before and thought I was fine after getting enough sleep, which led to the accident."

As a result of the incident, Jang voluntarily stepped down from the baseball variety show 'The Strongest Baseball.'
