Hong Jin-kyung Addresses Political Controversy Over Red Outfit

TV personality Hong Jin-kyung has once again addressed the controversy surrounding her alleged political stance.

On October 10, Hong Jin-kyung's YouTube channel 'Study King Jin Genius Hong Jin-kyung' released a video titled 'I'll Tell You Everything: The Truth About the Red Outfit.'

In the video, Hong Jin-kyung visited her office immediately after returning to Korea. She expressed, "I know it was tough for everyone because of me. I'm sorry," adding, "I came straight here from the airport. Many friends advised me to stay silent, saying it would be forgotten over time. But I don't think that way. I believe that if I speak honestly, any misunderstandings can be cleared up, even if it causes a stir again."

Hong Jin-kyung continued, "I apologized on social media for not thinking. I should not have been thoughtless, especially as someone who interviewed the three presidential candidates. I should have remained cautious and vigilant. I apologize once again for my lack of thought."

She further stated, "I will speak only the truth. My mother told me to swear on my conscience, but I felt people wouldn't believe it. I have a precious daughter, and I swear on her life. It seems people would only believe me if I swear on Rael."

She emphasized, "When I posted the photo in the red outfit, I did not think of any specific candidate or party, nor did I think about Korea at all. I didn't even hesitate or wonder if it was okay to post because it was red. I simply thought, 'The outfit is beautiful, I should post it quickly, the photo came out well.'"

Additionally, she stated, "If my words are true, my daughter will live a healthy and happy life as she wishes. If there's even a hint of a lie in my words, everything I do will fail, and I'll wonder, 'Why is my life like this?' and three generations will suffer. My daughter is precious beyond words. I would lay down my life a hundred, a thousand times for her, and I hope this vow proves my innocence."

On March 2, a day before the 21st presidential election in South Korea, Hong Jin-kyung posted a photo of herself wearing a red outfit on her social media, leading to speculation that she was supporting a specific political candidate, sparking a political controversy.
