South Korean actor Cha Eun-woo has generously donated 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross to aid in the recovery efforts following the devastating wildfires across the country.

In a statement, Cha expressed his concern over the rapid spread of the fires due to dry weather and strong winds, saying, "It is heartbreaking to see the scale of the damage increasing. I hope this donation can offer some comfort to those who have lost their precious daily lives and extend my gratitude to everyone working tirelessly to extinguish the fires and support the victims."

The donation will be used for wildfire recovery and to support those affected by the disaster. Cha Eun-woo has a history of philanthropy, having previously donated proceeds from his first solo photo exhibition, as well as contributing to COVID-19 relief efforts, supporting pediatric cancer patients, and aiding ALS patients.

Since the wildfires began on the 21st, the Korean Red Cross has been actively involved in emergency relief efforts in affected areas such as Sancheong in South Gyeongsang, Uiseong in North Gyeongsang, and Ulju in Ulsan.

As of the 26th, 1,599 staff and volunteers are on the ground, providing emergency relief kits, 1,268 blankets, 4,865 blankets, 385 shelters, and 86,813 units of water and other supplies. They have also provided meals to 40,750 firefighters and victims and conducted disaster psychological counseling for 2,441 individuals.

Additionally, mobile clinics have been set up for medical services, and 13 relief vehicles, including mobile kitchens, recovery support vehicles, mobile shower vehicles, and relief support vehicles, are in operation.
