Kim Soo-hyun to Proceed with Taiwan Fan Meeting Amidst Personal Controversy

On the 22nd, Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday reported that Kim Soo-hyun will attend the Sakura Festival fan meeting in Kaohsiung on the 30th as scheduled. The event is a major festival organized by Taiwan's 7-Eleven, and Kim is expected to attend as a brand ambassador.
The event organizers have reportedly arranged for additional police presence to prepare for any unforeseen incidents. Addressing speculations that this is due to Kim's controversy, they emphasized, "This is not a special security measure, but a precaution to intervene in case of illegal activities or chaotic situations during the event."
While the organizers are determined to proceed with the event, there is speculation that it might be canceled. Industry insiders estimate that if the event is canceled, the penalty could amount to 30 million yuan (approximately 13.2 billion Korean won). Kim Soo-hyun's appearance fee is reported to be 13.17 million Taiwanese dollars (approximately 6 billion Korean won). Advertising contracts often include clauses requiring payment of 2 to 3 times the advertising fee in case of social controversies or legal issues.
Previously, the family of the late Kim Sae-ron claimed through the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Institute' that Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun from November 19, 2015, when she was a middle school third grader, until July 7, 2021. They also alleged that after leaving her agency, she received a notice to repay a debt of 700 million won from Gold Medalist, causing psychological distress.
Kim Soo-hyun's side refuted these claims, stating that they dated from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020 when Kim Sae-ron was an adult. The two parties continue to dispute the truth of these claims.
