Former Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin-young to Launch New Agency

According to a report by TenAsia on the 18th, Kwon and Hook Entertainment mutually agreed to terminate her executive contract at the end of last year. Several executives who have worked closely with Kwon for many years are also set to depart from Hook Entertainment.
The departure is linked to a change in the company's major shareholder. In August of last year, Green Snake Media, the largest shareholder of Hook Entertainment, was acquired by Q Capital Partners, a private equity firm. Q Capital is the only PEF operator in South Korea that invests in cultural content such as films. Notable films like 'Parasite,' 'Ashfall,' and 'Exit' have received investments from Q Capital.
Kwon and the executives leaving Hook Entertainment have been preparing to establish a new agency named DAREUM Entertainment since last month. They are reportedly in the midst of setting up the new company.
Kwon, who was the manager of singer Lee Sun-hee, founded Hook Entertainment in 2002. The agency has been home to stars like Lee Seung-gi, Lee Seo-jin, Youn Yuh-jung, and Park Min-young.
