Will Pregnant Kim Min-hee Make an Appearance at the Berlin International Film Festival?

The anticipation builds as the 75th Berlin International Film Festival kicks off on February 13th in Berlin, Germany. Known as one of the world's top three film festivals alongside Cannes and Venice, the Berlinale is a prestigious event held annually in February.

Director Hong Sang-soo, who has been in a relationship with actress Kim Min-hee for nine years, enters the competition with his 33rd feature film, 'In Our Day.' The film is set to premiere on February 20th.

'In Our Day' tells the story of a 30-something poet named Dong-ho who unexpectedly visits his lover Jun-hee's home, leading to a series of events. Kim Min-hee, Hong's partner and actress, participated as the production manager for the film.

Hong Sang-soo's debut film, 'The Day a Pig Fell into the Well,' was invited to the Forum section in 1997, and since then, 12 of his films have been screened at the Berlinale. He has won five Silver Bears, including Best Actress for Kim Min-hee in 'On the Beach at Night Alone' (2017), Best Director for 'The Woman Who Ran,' Best Screenplay for 'Introduction' (2021), and the Jury Grand Prize for 'The Novelist's Film' (2022) and 'The Novelist's Film' (2022). This year, all eyes are on whether he will secure his sixth award, further cementing his reputation as a 'Beloved Director of Berlin.'

Additionally, if Kim Min-hee accompanies him, it will mark her first public appearance since the news of her pregnancy.
