Lim Young-woong's Solo Concert to Proceed Amid National Mourning in South Korea
Singer Lim Young-woong's solo concert will proceed as scheduled.

Lim Young-woong is set to perform at the 'Lim Young-woong Recital' from January 2 to 4 at the Gocheok Sky Dome. The concert, which had three performances from December 27 to 29, will add three more performances from January 2 to 4.

On December 31, Lim's agency, Mulgogi Music, announced on the fan cafe, "After much deliberation, we have decided to proceed with the concert to honor the precious promises made to the fans who have waited for a long time, as well as all the staff and associates involved in the concert preparation."

Mulgogi Music expressed condolences, stating, "We deeply mourn for those who lost their lives in the recent tragic accident and extend our heartfelt sympathies to their families. We sincerely share the pain with everyone who is grieving."

They added, "With a heavy heart, we will prepare for this concert to be a moment of genuine comfort and hope. We sincerely hope that we can all come together to overcome this difficult time."

Mulgogi Music also announced that they would offer full refunds without cancellation fees for ticket holders who choose not to attend the concert.

Previously, on the morning of December 29, a Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok to Muan International Airport in South Korea crashed. According to rescue authorities, 179 out of 181 passengers died, and 2 were injured. The government is focusing on identifying the victims and investigating the cause of the accident. A national mourning period has been declared from December 29 to January 4.

In response, the three major broadcasting networks canceled or rescheduled their year-end award ceremonies. Singer Cho Yong-pil postponed his concert in Daejeon, originally scheduled for January 4. The movie 'Secret That Cannot Be Told' canceled its production briefing on December 30, SBS's new drama 'My Perfect Secretary' canceled its press conference on January 3, and Disney+'s new series 'Trigger' canceled its media screening on January 3.
