Im Chang-jung's 'A Glass of Soju', production efforts go to waste, 7-Eleven also sells off
7-Eleven is taking steps to stop singer Lim Chang-jung, who is suspected of being involved in the stock market crash of Societe Generale (SG) Securities. It was decided to stop selling ‘Soju Hanban’, also known as Lim Chang-jeong Soju.

A 7-Eleven official said on the 10th, “We have decided not to sell any more ‘Soju Hanban’ once the stock we have so far is exhausted.”

Last February, 7-Eleven launched a distilled soju with Lim Chang-jung named after his hit song ‘A Glass of Soju.’ Production took about a year, and Lim Chang-jeong was known to have participated in the product production process from raw materials to package design, attracting attention.

As much as it was popular, the sales revenue was also significant. ‘A Glass of Soju’ ranked first in sales in the distilled soju category at 7-Eleven just three days after its launch.

Lim Chang-jung is said to have suffered a large loss after reinvesting 3 billion won out of the 5 billion won he sold his stake in the entertainment agency YesIAM Entertainment to stock price manipulation forces. In response to this, Lim Chang-jeong complained that he had incurred the debt due to ignorance, but Lim Chang-jeong attended the 'KRW 1 trillion party' held by the stock price manipulation group and attended an event for VVIP customers, and was considered a key figure in the stock price manipulation scandal. As a video praising Deokyeon as a 'religion' was released, suspicions that it was involved in stock price manipulation grew.
