Actor Jeong Gong-hwan shared his thoughts on playing the role of a 'disgraced husband' in 'Paper Moon'.

On the morning of the 15th, Jeong Gong-hwan conducted an interview commemorating the end of the Genie TV original drama 'Paper Moon' at a cafe in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

Jeong Gong-hwan played the role of Kim Seo-hyung's husband, Choi Ki-hyeon, in the play. Fame and social success are her goals in life, and Yui-hwa is a character with a sense of entitlement. He did not hesitate to make disparaging comments about his wife, which was called gaslighting, which aroused the anger of viewers.

On this day, Jeong Gong-hwan said about the character 'Choi Ki-hyeon', "I was surprised from the script reading," and "It was very difficult. Ki-hyun's lines were respectful from beginning to end. Although he has been married for over 10 years, he has no children and ignores his wife. “He spoke with respect,” he said.

He continued, "I thought those parts would be difficult, so I coordinated with the director and writer and changed it to 'anti-respect'," and added, "There are direct words, but I think he was crowned a 'villain' because of the atmosphere and nuance he gives off."

Viewers' reactions were also mentioned. Jeong Gong-hwan said, "I received a lot of criticism," and added, "He was very good at writing bad words toward my friend Choi Ki-hyun. I was actually happy to be the target of criticism, such as why I married him because I liked him, and why he acts like that when he looks fine on the outside."

'Paper Moon' is a suspense drama that tells the story of Yui-hwa (played by Kim Seo-hyung), who lived a suffocating daily life, and makes an irreversible choice when she embezzles money from VIP customers of a bank. It is based on a Japanese novel of the same name.
