Tensions Rise in 'Brave New World' as Heirs Battle for Power

SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Brave New World' has unveiled the intense rivalry between heirs Heo Nam-jun and Jang Seung-jo.

Premiering on the 8th, 'Brave New World' is a romantic comedy drama that depicts a high-stakes war-like romance between Shin Se-ri, a struggling actress possessed by the spirit of a notorious Joseon-era villainess, and Cha Se-gye, a ruthless conglomerate heir known as a monster born of capitalism. The drama stars Im Ji-yeon as Kang Dan-sim/Shin Se-ri and Heo Nam-jun as Cha Se-gye, marking their first on-screen romance, which has already garnered attention.

In the drama, Se-gye is the direct grandson of Cha Dal-soo, the chairman of Cha-il Group, but he runs his own business, Bio-J, instead of a Cha-il Group affiliate. Opposing him is Choi Moon-do, the president of Cha-il Construction and Cha Dal-soo's ambitious nephew, who dreams of becoming the chairman of Cha-il Group. Both characters form unexpected connections with Shin Se-ri to achieve their goals, setting the stage for an inevitable clash over the heir position between Se-gye, the direct grandson, and Moon-do, the collateral nephew.

The released stills capture a tense confrontation between Se-gye and Moon-do at night, drawing attention. The icy atmosphere between them, devoid of familial warmth, is palpable, leaving viewers holding their breath. The stark contrast in their expressions heightens the intrigue: Se-gye's tense, anger-suppressed face versus Moon-do's cool, confident smile.

'Brave New World' premieres on the 8th at 9:50 PM.
