Cha Hak-yeon is set to transform his acting persona as he takes on the role of Kim Hee-ae's eldest son.
JTBC's new drama 'Gold Digger' is a mystery romance that questions whether the young man who approaches a successful middle-aged woman is driven by love or deceit, leading to a continuous cycle of doubt and misunderstanding.
Actors Kim Hee-ae and Noh Sang-hyun will portray Min Young-joo, a publishing company CEO, and Jung Jae-hee, a freelance designer, respectively. Their relationship is marked by constant suspicion of each other's true intentions. Joining them are actors Kim Ji-eun, Cha Hak-yeon, and Park Soo-oh, who will play Min Young-joo's children.
Kim Ji-eun will take on the role of Seo Hyun-seo, Min Young-joo's eldest daughter and a manager in the publishing company's editorial team. Upon discovering her mother's relationship with Jung Jae-hee, she is thrown into turmoil, grappling with a mix of concern, resentment, and anger. Audiences eagerly anticipate Kim Ji-eun's portrayal of Seo Hyun-seo's complex emotions.
Cha Hak-yeon will play Seo Hyun-chul, Min Young-joo's eldest son and a film production company PD. Having turned his back on his father who left Min Young-joo lonely, Seo Hyun-chul is further shocked by the arrival of Jung Jae-hee in his mother's life. Cha Hak-yeon's transformation into Seo Hyun-chul is expected to add tension to the drama.
Lastly, Park Soo-oh will portray Seo Hyun-min, Min Young-joo's youngest son. With a sensitive personality easily swayed by emotions, Seo Hyun-min constantly seeks affection and attention. His character is particularly reactive to Jung Jae-hee, adding complexity to the family dynamics.
'Gold Digger' promises to explore the conflicts arising from the differing personalities of the three siblings, Seo Hyun-seo, Seo Hyun-chul, and Seo Hyun-min, as they navigate their mother's new relationship with Jung Jae-hee. Viewers are keen to see the choices and actions the siblings will take.
The drama is based on the British series of the same name, written by Marnie Dickens and produced by Mainstreet Pictures.
