Korean TV personality Jang Young-ran's mother has opened up about her emotional struggles following the passing of her husband.

On the 29th, a video titled "Jang Young-ran Organizes Her Father's Belongings: A New Look at Her Family Home (Father's Diary, Grief Syndrome)" was posted on the 'A-Class Jang Young-ran' channel.

In the video, Jang Young-ran, accompanied by her husband Han Chang, visited her newly relocated family home. She expressed her longing while looking through her late father's diary, who passed away after battling pancreatic cancer.

Jang Young-ran's mother cautiously shared her feelings, saying, "I'm okay now, but I think I was depressed before. I didn't even want to eat or wash my feet. Everything felt burdensome and the world seemed bothersome."

She revealed, "It took about 6 to 7 years for me to regain my senses. Before that, I wasn't myself," surprising everyone.

Jang Young-ran was taken aback by her mother's heartfelt confession. She recalled, "I used to wonder why my mom would cry wherever we went," to which her mother responded, "That was depression, but I didn't know it at the time." Jang Young-ran tearfully admitted, "I wish we had sought counseling back then."

Her mother also shared how she overcame depression, saying, "I went to the mountain behind our house alone and felt proud of myself for overcoming the situation. I called my daughter, but Young-ran yelled, 'Why do you say you're alone when you have me and your son-in-law?'"

Jang Young-ran explained, "I was scared because I thought my mom meant she wanted to die, so I got angry. It would have been nice if she had just said she was proud of herself for walking again, but all I heard was 'I'm alone,' which made her seem so lonely."

Meanwhile, Jang Young-ran's father passed away in 2017 after his pancreatic cancer worsened following surgery. Jang Young-ran married Han Chang in September 2009, and they have a son and a daughter.
