SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Brave New World', starring actors Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-joon, is poised to continue the network's undefeated streak in weekend dramas. Meanwhile, 'Brave New World' will face off against MBC's '21st Century Grand Lady', starring Byun Woo-seok and IU, in the same time slot.

Premiering on May 8th, 'Brave New World' is a romantic comedy drama that depicts a high-stakes, explosive war-like romance between Shin Se-ri, an unknown actress possessed by the spirit of a notorious Joseon-era villainess, and Cha Se-gye, a ruthless conglomerate heir known as a monster born of capitalism.

Shin Se-ri (played by Lim Ji-yeon) is a character who transcends 300 years to arrive in 2026 South Korea, carving out her own destiny with her survival instincts, fully armed with adaptability and a sharp tongue. Opposing her is Cha Se-gye (played by Heo Nam-joon), a character who uses his infamous reputation to his advantage, showcasing a proactive charm that turns crises into opportunities.

The chemistry between these two notorious characters is drawing attention, especially for the unprecedented synergy they are expected to create. As seen in the teaser's flower duel scene, Se-ri and Se-gye engage in relentless, extreme banter that promises fresh humor. Their clashes, driven by a refusal to tolerate injustice, are anticipated to deliver unexpected moments and intense entertainment.

Above all, the comedic chemistry between Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-joon is set to shine. Director Han Tae-seop praised their comedic performances, stating, "The comedic acting of Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-joon is top-notch," and hinted that "the explosive energy generated when survival-driven Se-ri and infamy-armed Se-gye collide will create immense fun."
