Korean TV personality Seo Jang-hoon offered advice to a guest on the show.
On the 362nd episode of KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything', which aired on the 27th, a 20-year-old college student appeared seeking advice about her boyfriend's excessive possessiveness.
The guest shared, "I'm currently in a relationship, but my boyfriend's possessiveness is so intense that I'm worried about how to maintain a healthy relationship." The couple met at a gathering with friends and started dating shortly after the boyfriend confessed his feelings. As of the recording date, they were approaching their 300-day anniversary.
However, according to the guest, her boyfriend would say things like "Don't go to school" and "Are you abandoning me?", trying to control her daily life. He would also show up unannounced despite her having personal plans. Shockingly, he even mentioned that if she met another man while he was in the military, he would track her down, and he demanded they draft a relationship contract.
In response, Lee Soo-geun firmly stated, "That has no legal standing," while Seo Jang-hoon added, "I guarantee that you won't end up marrying the person you're dating now," offering a dose of reality. When the guest revealed that her boyfriend talked about a 'blood oath' and even discussed marriage and children, Seo Jang-hoon criticized, "That's nonsense," and advised, "There's no need to assign meaning to every action." Lee Soo-geun also noted, "People who make such statements are often the first to break up."
As Seo Jang-hoon's stern advice continued, the guest eventually broke into tears. Lee Soo-geun comforted her, saying, "It's not about breaking up immediately, but focusing on the present relationship rather than the distant future." Seo Jang-hoon concluded by emphasizing, "The right person will come along based on who you are. If you improve yourself, you'll meet someone even better." Lee Soo-geun added, "Instead of clinging to fate, cherish the present."
Meanwhile, 'Ask Anything' airs every Monday night at 8 PM on KBS Joy.
