Mysterious Illness and Domestic Struggles Unveiled on 'Oh Eun-young Report: Marriage Hell'
Aired on the 27th, the episode showcased the precarious daily life of the 'Rope Couple,' who have been seeking help from 'Oh Eun-young Report' for the past two years. The wife expressed her frustration over the lack of communication due to her husband's avoidance.
The husband has been suffering from an unknown illness. Since collapsing in 2023, his body began to stiffen, making even simple conversations and using chopsticks difficult. Despite visiting major hospitals for treatment, a precise diagnosis has eluded them for over three years. In desperation, the wife even consulted a shaman, while single-handedly managing her husband's medical expenses, family livelihood, and household chores, leading to her exhaustion.
The husband's constant smiling, even in frustrating situations, surprised everyone. The wife noted, "Even before he got sick, he would smile when angry, even at my parents' funeral." The husband explained, "I genuinely feel like smiling." Observing the husband closely, Dr. Oh Eun-young diagnosed, "It seems like Parkinson's disease, as he shows typical symptoms like hand tremors, stiffness, and slow movements."
Witnessing the entire situation, Dr. Oh Eun-young sternly reprimanded the husband, stating, "This is something a human should never do." She also warned of the severity of the situation, revealing that a detailed psychological examination showed the wife's mental health is at a critical and very precarious level.
Despite everything, the wife couldn't let go of her husband. She shared, "At the hospital, he held my arm tightly. I'd rather give my body than feel heartache," explaining why she couldn't leave him, moving viewers to tears. The cast, observing the couple's inability to let go or fully embrace each other, and the father-son relationship marred by resentment, couldn't hide their dismay.
Towards the end of the broadcast, the husband expressed his unspoken feelings to his wife, saying, "I'm sorry, I love you, thank you." He also told his son, "I'm sorry. I hope you're not angry anymore. I love you, son," leaving a lasting impression.
