Lee Kwang-soo and Director Kim Sung-hoon Clash Over 'Gold Tooth' Idea at 'Goldland' Press Conference
Actor Lee Kwang-soo and director Kim Sung-hoon showcased their playful chemistry over the 'gold tooth' idea.

On the morning of the 27th, a press conference for the Disney+ original series 'Goldland' was held at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by actors Park Bo-young, Kim Sung-cheol, Lee Hyun-wook, Kim Hee-won, Moon Jung-hee, Lee Kwang-soo, and director Kim Sung-hoon.

During the event, Lee Kwang-soo stated, “I suggested an idea to the director, but as time passed and people became interested in the gold tooth, he said, 'That was actually my idea.'” He continued, “The director insists, 'Don't you remember? I suggested it first,' but I clearly remember that I thought of it first.” He also emphasized that he never received any payment for the gold tooth makeup.

In response, director Kim Sung-hoon said, “Honestly, it’s okay to say Lee Kwang-soo came up with it, but to clarify, Lee Kwang-soo did mention, 'How about a gold tooth?' So I suggested, 'A regular gold tooth is too common, let's frame it like a window frame,' but he didn’t understand. I even drew a picture to explain.”

Hearing this, Lee Kwang-soo joked, “If I get the chance, I’ll reveal the text messages. This isn’t something to just let go,” adding, “I think the idea share is about 8:2.”

Meanwhile, 'Goldland' is a survival thriller about Hee-joo (played by Park Bo-young), who gets her hands on 150 billion won worth of gold bars from a smuggling organization and fights to keep the gold for herself. The series consists of 10 episodes and will be released two episodes per week starting on the 29th.
