Comedian Um Ji-yoon candidly shared her feelings about a 'wedding' she had with a married man on the recent episode of MBC's 'The Manager' aired on the 25th.
Um Ji-yoon appeared on the show and discussed her reasons for joining the 'Short Box' comedy group. She revealed, "I was originally part of KBS's 32nd open recruitment. Jo Jin-se was from the 31st, and Kim Won-hoon from the 30th. I thought comedians would eventually disappear. When I went to 'Gag Concert,' I wondered, 'How did I become a comedian when I seem to lack talent?'"
After the pandemic, many comedians started their own YouTube channels, but the content from Jo Jin-se and Kim Won-hoon didn't receive a good response. Um Ji-yoon humorously explained, "They were looking for someone among the juniors who could act, and I guess I stood out. They were in a hurry, so they brought me in."
Recently, a 'long-term couple' wedding became a hot topic. The couple started as an 11-year relationship and has now been together for 15 years, bringing them closer to marriage episodes.
Um Ji-yoon, who is single, shared her thoughts on the wedding with Kim Won-hoon, who is married. She said, "Honestly, it felt like a real wedding with things like studio, dress, and guest list. I didn't do a dress fitting because I wanted to save that for myself."
When Um Ji-yoon expressed concerns about whether her real wedding would feel special, Kim Won-hoon mentioned, "There are people who genuinely believe it when they see us on the street. Some even congratulated us on our marriage."
Comments on the situation included remarks like "Kim Won-hoon's wife is a saint," and some negative comments were directed at Um Ji-yoon. She expressed her frustration, saying, "It's stressful. It feels like I'm having an affair."
Kim Won-hoon reassured, "My wife finds the content entertaining," and Um Ji-yoon added, "I recently went on vacation with Kim Won-hoon's wife. She even supported us when we filmed a kissing scene."
In another anecdote, Um Ji-yoon recalled Kim Won-hoon bragging about gifting his parents with cash spread on their bed. She commented, "I think cash on a bed where you lie down is unhygienic." She then shared her own story of gifting her mother, who is in her 60s, with a luxury bag filled with cash, showcasing her filial piety.
