The weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin' (directed by Lee Seung-hoon, written by Phoebe, Im Sung-han) on TV CHOSUN is gaining popularity with its bold concept of 'brain change,' exploring human desires and instincts that break taboos for love.
The 12th episode achieved its highest ratings yet and topped the FUNdex TV-Drama category and Drama TV-OTT search responses in the second week of April, proving its ongoing popularity.
In the previous episode, Shin Ju-shin (played by Jung Yi-chan) comforted Geum Bara (played by Ju Se-bin) after she declared a breakup with Ha Yong-jung (played by Ahn Woo-yeon) following a confusing impulsive night. Shin Ju-shin, who grew closer to the distressed Geum Bara while living together, proposed again, saying, "Think of me as a substitute, I'll be the chicken," and received her consent for marriage.
In the upcoming 13th episode airing on the 25th, Jung Yi-chan will be seen wiping away Ju Se-bin's tears in a poignant 'heart-wrenching two-shot' scene. The scene depicts Shin Ju-shin and Geum Bara sitting on a bench, having a conversation. As Shin Ju-shin calmly explains the situation, Geum Bara, initially confused, becomes overwhelmed with emotion and starts crying. Shin Ju-shin then tenderly wipes her tears, raising curiosity about the event that triggered their emotional release.
Jung Yi-chan and Ju Se-bin effectively portray the emotional buildup between Shin Ju-shin and Geum Bara in the 'tear-wiping confession' scene, enhancing the dramatic immersion. Jung Yi-chan skillfully conveys Shin Ju-shin's transformation from a cold, emotionless character to someone who genuinely cares for Geum Bara through subtle expressions and gestures. Ju Se-bin delivers a convincing performance, capturing Geum Bara's emotional peak and disbelief with intense emotional acting.
The production team stated, "In the 13th episode, Shin Ju-shin and Geum Bara's relationship reaches a pivotal turning point. Watch to see how Shin Ju-shin influences Geum Bara, who hasn't fully let go of her feelings for Ha Yong-jung, and how their relationship evolves."
Meanwhile, writer Phoebe's bold narrative continues to captivate audiences in the TV CHOSUN weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin,' a medical thriller about a genius doctor challenging divine realms and a woman losing her soul after a sudden brain malfunction. Episode 13 will air on the 25th at 10:30 PM on TV CHOSUN and Coupang Play.
